Enabling Java Script
& Cookies
Enabling JavaScript
For Netscape Communicator* 4.x:
- Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
- Click Advanced from the left side of the screen.
- Check the box marked Enable JavaScript.
- Click OK.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer* 4.x:
- From the View menu, select Internet Options.
- From the Security tab, choose the Custom option and click Settings.
- Scroll to the Scripting option, and make sure Scripting of Java applets is
enabled. If it is not enabled, select Enable.
- Click OK.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer* 5.x:
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- From the Security tab, choose the Custom option.
- Scroll to the Scripting option, and make sure Scripting of Java applets is
enabled. If it is not enabled, select Enable.
- Click OK.
Note: If the Scripting of Java applets cannot be enabled, you must
download Microsoft Virtual Machine to enable the scripting of Java applets. You
can get more information about Microsoft Virtual Machine from
http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/ie/download/jvm.htm
For AOL 4.0
- Log in to AOL.
- Click on MY AOL icon.
- Select Preferences from the icon on the Toolbar.
- Click the WWW icon on the Security tab, choose the Custom option, and
click Settings.
- Scroll to the Scripting option and make sure Scripting of Java applets is
enabled. If it is not enabled, select Enable.
Enabling Cookies
For Netscape Communicator* 4.x:
- From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
- Select Advanced.
- Select the box labeled "Accept All Cookies."
- Click OK.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer* 4.x:
- From the View menu, select Internet Options.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down until you see the Security section.
- In the section Cookies, select "Always accept Cookies" to turn
them on.
- Click OK.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer* 5.x:
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- From the Security tab, click Custom.
- Scroll to the Cookies subsection, and make sure the following are both
enabled:
- Allow cookies that are stored on your computer
- Allow per-session cookies not stored
- If they are not enabled, select Enable for both.
- Click OK.
For AOL 4.0
- Click the Windows Start button.
- From Settings, select Control Panel.
- Click on Internet, then select the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down until you see the Security section.
- In the section Cookies, select "Always accept Cookies" to turn
them on.
- Click OK.
